Does USC Marshall School offer loans and scholarships?

Loans and Scholarships

Most students and families use federal or private loan programs to experience collegiate education. Loans constitute an essential asset in meeting students’ educational goals, and once the student graduates, the student or family is responsible for managing and repaying such loans.

Loans for Undergraduate Students

Students and parents can benefit from this program, which offers minimal-interest loans for self-financed students at USC. The United States of America guarantees the loans. The loans will depend on the relevant information disclosed in the FAFSA, which affects the cost of attendance at the college or university.

Federal Direct Loans

Federal Direct Loans at USC Marshall School of Business offer flexible government-sponsored student financing at competitive interest rates and repayment options. Such loans ease students’ tuition burden, allowing them to focus on succeeding academically.

Direct Parent PLUS Loans

Families seeking long-term financing may consider the Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan to meet their child’s financing needs.

Direct Graduate PLUS Loan

Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loans are available to graduate and professional students seeking long-term financing.

Private Financing

Private financing programs are unsecured student loans from private institutions, including banks or credit unions. These loans are to be repaid with interest. The two types of assets or debts are called financing instead of funding as they entail the element of return besides the amount borrowed. Private loan programs differ concerning interest rates, origination fees, and repayment fees, which hinge upon borrower or co-borrower credit standing.

Many of the undergraduates will have to apply with a creditworthy cosigner. Graduate students can use this loan independently as borrowers, but having a credit-worthy co-borrower can help them get a lower interest rate on their loans.

Repayment and deferment terms between lenders are different. Speak to your lender for specifics.

Scholarships

All admitted candidates will automatically be considered for opportunities associated with merit-based scholarships and are informed at admission regarding the scholarship decision. The assessment criteria are the same ones used for achieving admission but more competitive. No further application is required for these scholarships.

There are four more scholarships available:

Consortium for Graduate Study in Management (CGSM) Fellowships

Applicants who wish to join The Consortium and have to be offered an MBA Fellowship must be able to support The Consortium’s mission of expanding diversity and inclusion worldwide in business.  The application route for the Marshall MBA Program will be taken through The Consortium for students applying via The Consortium.

Schoen Family Scholarship Program for Veterans

Newly admitted Full-Time MBA students have an opportunity to apply for this specialty. Eligibility requirements under the award are:

1) The Student must have been honorably discharged from the U.S. Armed Forces.

2) The Student must have served in active duty for continuous full-time for at least three years within the past 10 years.

ROMBA (Reaching Out MBA)

To qualify for these fellowships, candidates must demonstrate their leadership within the LGBTQ+ community on their application and complete the ROMBA Fellowship Interest Form.

FORTE FOUNDATION: More Women Leading

Forté Fellowships are highly prestigious, competitive awards recognized in the business school community and beyond. They are awarded to Forté Fellows who demonstrate exemplary leadership, hail from diverse backgrounds and are committed to advancing women in business. All women applicants are automatically considered for this scholarship opportunity.
