Does Anderson School offer loans and scholarships?

Fellowships: 

  • Merit Fellowships: The admission application submitted at the time of admission is used to make fellowship decisions, which are final. Awards are for two years and are made by the UCLA Anderson Fellowship Committee
  • Donor Fellowships: Through the generosity of alums, corporate foundations, and individual donors, fellowships are awarded based on selection criteria for professional development, anticipated career, community involvement, and financial need.
  • Second-Year Donor Fellowships: Few donor fellowships available to award to students in their second year. Grant awards will consider first-year grades obtained in core courses, participation in the UCLA Anderson community, and any other criteria selected by the donors. 
  • External Fellowships: Private agencies and organisations offer a variety of scholarships for MBA students. 
  • Consortium Fellowships: Members admitted into the Consortium process and awarded Consortium membership are granted admission for the merit-based UCLA Anderson Consortium Fellowship. Scholarships are made by the UCLA Anderson Fellowship Committee and are awarded for two full academic years. 
  • Forté Fellowships: UCLA Anderson is proud to support Forté by awarding Forté Fellowships to excellent individuals committed to furthering and uplifting our future generation of women. The UCLA Anderson Fellowship Committee awards these. These are given free at UCLA Anderson.
  • ROMBA Fellowships: At UCLA Anderson, we have acknowledged students as ROMBA Fellows, an associated member school under the Reaching Out MBA (ROMBA) program, into the association of LGBTQ and active ally future business leaders. These Fellowships have been received by LGBTQ students and/or allies who have shown leadership in the LGBTQ community and dedicated ongoing action towards the advancement of the LGBTQ person in business. The fellowships are for two years and are awarded by the UCLA Anderson Fellowship Committee.

    • Must be a US citizen or Permanent Resident

    • Students can borrow up to education costs less other financial assistance
    • Repayment starts six months after the student graduates or withdraws to half-time (four units). 
    • The standardised repayment regime is generally ten years.
    • Usual repayment plans like income-contingent repayment.

  • Private loans: Any undergraduate learner who has borrowed to the maximum under the Direct Loans Program and requires further financial support can apply for credit with other personal loans. Graduate students can do the same. These loans are non-FAFSA and non-DREAM Application loans, extended to every applicant fulfilling a particular condition. However, you may have to fill in the FAFSA or DREAM Application for your financial aid office to explain the likelihood of other funding sources for federal or state loans before going for a private loan.

GI Bill and Assistantship

  • GI Bill®: Post 9/11 GI Bill is also referred to as the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008 and succeeded the earlier GI Bill that was serving the formation with educational benefits. To utilise your GI Bill benefits, you must enrol with the VA online or at your local VA office. The admissions office can process no documents, so all the papers should be sent to the UCLA Veterans Office. All documents that students submit for certification and any questions they may have should be forwarded to the UCLA Certifying Official at vabenefit@saonet.ucla.edu. The GPA calculated on all credits includes students in self-supporting programs who are NOT eligible for the CalVet waiver. 
  • Teaching Assistants: It is estimated that about 16% of the full-time second-year students work as TAs or RAs in the MBA programme annually. The faculty fills these positions, so get close to your teachers and do well in your courses.
