Does Wharton School offer loans and scholarships?
Loans
Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan Program: The Federal direct loan maximum aggregate limit for a graduate school student is $20,500 for each year of the program only. This loan will need the 2024-2025 FAFSA application for the federal Pell Grant to qualify. Please visit the student loan page on the Student Registration and Financial Service (SRFS) student loan site for further details.
Federal Direct Graduate Plus Loan: If you require more funds than the Direct Loan, apply for the Direct Grad PLUS Loan. The 2024-2025 FAFSA application is needed to qualify for this loan. Student loan information can also be obtained from the Student Registration & Financial Services (SRFS) website.
Private Alternative Loan Programs: You might take a Private Alternative Loan instead of the Federal Direct or Grad PLUS loan. Private Alternative Loans are unsubsidized and usually have flat and any interest rates and fees relevant to your credit score. Also, one may be expected to produce cosigners. Unlike Federal Direct and Grad PLUS loans, private loans have no annual or any other income-based limits for monthly payments. Specifically, Wharton’s MBA financial aid office suggests another private alternative to this loan. Thus, one has to study other programs for loans. Refer to information on the Grad PLUS and Private Alternative Loans and the application process on the Student Registration & Financial Services Website.
Loan Limits: Less any other financial aid up to the amount of the institution’s Cost of Attendance budget
A private student loan must be applied for every year of the program for this type of loan.
Private Alternative Lenders: Select offers a common-sense comparison of loans without preferences. In the above-highlighted areas, students can compare the interest rates, the conditions of repayment, and much more. Choose the “Wharton MBA, University of Pennsylvania” option, then study loan offers. Please remember that what has been described here is not a list of all the products available for student loans.
